Physical Evaluation
Evaluating your specific health and fitness levels is paramount to designing an appropriate and safe program. The exercise physiology evaluation includes a review of your medical history, and measurement of your body’s structure, posture, strength, flexibility, body fat, and cardiovascular/aerobic capacity. It may also include the use of video or photography to better analyze your posture and movements. You receive a printout of the evaluation results and specific recommendations on how to improve any deficits. It is recommended that you consult with your physician prior to beginning the recommended exercise program.
Individual (Private) Session:
The specific exercise prescription is based on the results of your evaluation, your goals, previous level of activity, and recommendations by your doctor and/or therapist. The individual attention that you receive in each session will ensure that the time spent is efficient and productive. Each session lasts about 60 minutes, and is usually at your home. Equipment is provided if you don’t have a home gym. Some sessions could be at a local gym or clinic that has a relationship with Physio-X. Frequency of the sessions is usually from 1-3 days per week, however this will be arranged according to your needs.
Photographic and Videographic Analysis:
The use of photography and video allows us to more accurately identify the anatomical dysfunctions that are most commonly linked to injuries. It is a very effective tool in developing a personalized program with your specific condition in mind. In this evaluation, a photographic record is made of your posture and specific movement patterns. The video and photographs are analyzed and an appropriate therapeutic program is designed to correct any dysfunctions that are identified.
Dietary Analysis and Nutritional Recommendations:
 | | The science of exercise physiology is strongly linked to nutrition and dietary habits. Your full potential will only be reached by addressing this important element of your life. This process involves analyzing a “diary” of your food intake over a 2-3 day period. This is followed by nutritional recommendations that will compliment your exercise and fitness goals.
